Alien Rescue is designed for sixth-grade space science to use in about fifteen 50-minute class sessions. It’s aligned with National Science Standards and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). As an open environment, there is no one ‘correct’ strategy to use Alien Rescue. It
encourages students to freely discover, explore, and make mistakes. We also provide suggested lesson plans in a comprehensive teacher's manual.
Schools have used and/or are using Alien Rescue:
It is being used as part of the science curriculum by 16 middle schools in Central Texas with a diverse ethnic base. In addition, schools in at least twenty-one states (TX, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, HI, IL, IA, KS, MD, MI, MO, MS, NM, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, WA) and four countries (Australia, Canada, China) have used and are using it.
